🌿 Panchayat Level Tree Committee

A Panchayat Level Tree Committee has been formed to protect trees standing in public roads and public places, and to prevent accidents. These committees have been constituted under the Local Self Government Department Circular No. 248/RC3/2016/LSGD dated 14.07.2017. The committee functions to avoid delays and make timely decisions during emergencies.

🏛️ Committee Structure

  • Panchayat President – Chairman

  • Panchayat Secretary – Convener

  • Village Officer – Member

  • Forest Department – Member

📋 Main Responsibilities

  • 🌳 Assess Risk: Inspect whether trees and branches pose a risk of accidents.

  • 🛡️ Ensure Public Security: Take necessary actions regarding trees that threaten lives and property.

  • 🏡 Regulate Private Trees: Issue necessary instructions and initiate legal steps as required.

  • 📊 Valuation: Conduct the valuation of trees to be cut down through the Forest Department.

  • 🌍 Environmental Protection: Ensure a safe environment by balancing public safety and environmental conservation.
