Panchayat

A Panchayat is an elected body of peoples' representatives formed to manage the administration of Panchayati Raj institutions. In the case of a Grama Panchayat, it is the primary committee responsible for implementing the decisions of the Grama Sabha and managing day-to-day administration.Key Components of a Panchayat:President: The head of the Panchayat. They preside over meetings and oversee the overall functioning of the Panchayat.Vice President: Discharges the duties and responsibilities in the absence of the President.Ward Members: Elected representatives from each ward within the Panchayat.Standing Committees: Sub-committees formed for areas such as Finance, Development, Welfare, and Health & Education, in order to make decision-making easier and more efficient.
